Resident Evil 4

Snaku:
This game is now 6 years old, surviving 2 generations of consoles. It can be found on Gamecube, PS2, PC, IOS, Wii, and is now heading over to PS3 and Xbox. I am the proud owner of the PS2 version, thought about owning it on Wii, and is tempted to get it on PS3. I am a sucker of Capcom Evil.

One thing will certainly motivate me for the HD version: if they can upgrade the controls to RE5 standard. Months after mastering RE5 mercenaries, one attempt at RE4 Mercenaries ran short due to the no longer familiar input responses. If one review had the words control sucks in there then I will stay away. Elsewise, I may very likely be cussing and drawing my wallet at the same time.

I mean, this is one of my favorite games 5 years ago. Seeing Leon back in the action was a pretty big deal as RE2 was my very first RE experience. Ashley was a pretty interesting subject until she showed up whining constantly. Even as a glorifying device for the protagonist she's annoying. Being a constant factor of failure does not help her stand.

Unlike RE5, 4 actually had some scares. Particularly the cage-in-air boss fight. Any scene with Garrador was good, especially caught in surprise. Regenerator was also a likable enemy. Cute and fuzzy. The game also offers great scenery in the castle comparing to the endless savage background of 5. I loved 5 for its coop and mercenaries actions, but 4 caught me off guard for some nice surprises.
